Xavier Aubry founder and managing partner of Zaz Ventures

Xavier Aubry is the founder and managing partner of Zaz Ventures, an innovation consultancy with offices in Brussels, London, Stockholm, Barcelona, Milan and Zurich.

Over the past 15 years, he has been involved in over 100 research and innovation projects, as external consultant, reviewer, contributor or coordinator, under the H2020, FP7, FP6, AAL, EUREKA, Eurostars and CIP European frameworks.

Between 2014 and 2018, he has helped organizations raise over €120M of public funding for strategic research and innovation projects. His activities focus on the use of artificial intelligence to address major societal challenges such as healthcare, security and climate change.

He holds a Master of Business Administration with high distinction from Harvard Business School.

Asher Ben Artzi, Chief Superintendent (Ret.)

Asher Ben Artzi is the former director of INTERPOL of the Israel National Police (INP).

He served for 34 years in the INP and the ISA (Israel Security Agency).  During his tenure with the Israel National Police, he was the Director of the Security Department  and the Director of  INTERPOL & International Operations, dealing with drugs, terror and organized crime.

Chief Superintendent  Ben Artzi commanded the Israel National Police attaches overseas and was responsible for liaison and coordination with foreign police and intelligence agencies.

Ben Artzi has a MA in Administration from Haifa university.

Alain Chouet

Born in 1946, Alain Chouet is the former chief of the French Security Intelligence Service. Graduated in law, political science and Arabic language, he joined in 1972 the French Intelligence Service (DGSE) where he performed his whole career, alternating appointments abroad (Middle East, North Africa, Europe) and executive responsibilities at the headquarters. Considered as a specialist of the security issues in the Arabic and Muslim world, he was a consulting advisor to the French MFA in the ‘90’s and, since he retired in 2007, is the author of many articles and essays in French specialised reviews and books.

Nate Cardozo, Senior Staff Attorney at EFF

Nate Cardozo’s dedication on EFF’s civil liberties team is on cybersecurity policy and defending coder’s rights.

Nate Cardozo has a B.A in Anthropology and Politicts from U.C. Santa Cruz and a J.D. from U.C. Hastings. In addition to his role in EFF he serves on the boards of directors of the First Amendment Coalition and the South Asian Film, Preservation Society.

Laurens Naudts, Doctoral Researcher and researcher in law

Laurens Naudts is a Doctoral Researcher and researcher in law at the KU Leuven Centre for IT & IP Law. His research interests focus on the interrelationship between artificial intelligence, ethics, justice, fairness and the law. Laurens’ Ph.D. research reconsiders the concepts of equality and data protection within the context of machine learning and algorithmically guided decision-making. As a researcher, Laurens has also been actively involved in several national and EU funded (FP7 and H2020) research projects, including VICTORIA, Video Analysis for Investigation of Criminal and Terrorist Activities
