The School of Mathematics, Computer Science and Engineering was opened in 1883 has been at the forefront of international excellence in teaching and research for well over 100 years and has ranked in the top 10 in UK in the recent research excellence framework. The School’s proximity to the heart of the City of London allows researchers to be accessible to the marketplace and work in close association with commerce and industry, with many of our visiting lecturers, guest speakers and research partners in a wide variety of business disciplines coming from large City corporations. As one of the oldest Engineering School it has an impressive range of alumni, located across the world, who continue to be an important part of the wider community of the School, and also an extremely diverse international body of staff and students. This makes for a stimulating environment for both our student body and visiting researchers.
